Giada Polenghi ESA-SRB-ANZOS 2025 in conjunction with ENSA

Giada Polenghi

I hold a Master’s degree in Applied Experimental Biology from the University of Pavia, Italy. I worked at the Policlinico of Milan, where I focused on the study of reproductive disorders and Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome (BWS), demonstrating a strong interest in the intersection between genetics and reproductive health. In January 2025, I joined The Ritchie Centre as an Erasmus trainee under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Tapmeier. My current research focuses on endometriosis, specifically on Neuropeptide S Receptor 1 (NPSR1), a G protein-coupled receptor involved in inflammatory pathways and immune regulation. I am investigating a novel variant of this gene to better understand the mechanisms linking NPSR1 to endometriosis.
