Chitra Tulpule
Chitra Tulpule is a PhD candidate at Deakin University, investigating early-life nutrition and its role in childhood overweight and obesity. Her research focuses on the first 2,000 days of life, examining how cultural and ethnic factors—particularly among Indian immigrant mothers in Australia—influence feeding practices and long-term health outcomes. With a Master’s in Human Nutrition and a postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Chitra brings an interdisciplinary lens to public health research. She also has nine years of experience in systems development and maintenance at Medicare. Her work is driven by a commitment to health equity and aims to inform culturally responsive public health strategies.
