Kate A McBride

Kate McBride is Associate Professor and Head of the Public Health Discipline within the School of Medicine, Western Sydney University and Director of the Population Health Research and Epidemiology Unit at South Western Sydney Local Health District. An epidemiologist and mixed methods researcher, Kate specialises in chronic disease prevention, with a particular focus on severe and complicated obesity as well as cancer. Kate works with policymakers, consumers, healthcare providers, and NGOs to facilitate translation of research into effective prevention strategies and system-level advocacy for improved health outcomes among people who experience inequitable outcomes. Kate is also NSW Branch President of the Public Health Association of Australia and Australian and New Zealand Obesity Society Council Member.
