Bonnie Furzer
A/Prof. Bonnie Furzer (she/her) is an academic in the School of Human Sciences (Exercise & Sport Science) at the University of Western Australia, and works clinically as Service Lead and Senior Exercise Physiologist at Fremantle Hospital’s Mental Health Service. She is the founder and CEO of Thriving in Motion, a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to build happy, healthy and strong young people through exercise, and an Honorary Research Associate at The Kids Research Institute Australia.
Bonnie leads the Mental Health and Exercise Group (MHEX), with projects centred around the use of exercise to improve physical and mental health in vulnerable or at-risk populations. She has a strong focus on translation of research into practice through collaborations and partnerships with consumers and communities, and believes that everyone should have access to positive, health promoting exercise experiences.
